🍿 Launching the "Indie Dev Monday" newsletter!
There is no passion like the indie developer passion… at least in my opinion 😁 The projects are fueled by a personal hobby, interest, or problem. The project is initially built in spare time between work and family obligations. The resulting product bleeds the developers personality and effort.
Indie developers and their apps can be difficult to find. They can buried in the app stores and on social media behind app giants.
But that doesn’t mean they shouldn’t get less love and support ❤️ We are going to help change that!
“Indie Dev Monday” will provide bite sized weekly issues to showcase one or two indie devs. Each issue will introduce the developer and their background along with their creations. Let’s get to know and support the indie developers that really make the App Store, Google Play, and the web what it is today.
Why “Indie Dev Monday”?
It started with this tweet 👇 I loved seeing all the indie dev love for Charlie and Christian. I wanted more of it and offhand mentioned having an “indie dev Monday”. It hit me a few hours later that I can actually make that happen 🤷♂️
It’s been an amazing day on Twitter 🙂 My feed was filled with with @_chuckyc’s 2.0 launch of @DarkNoiseApp and @ChristianSelig’s birthday cute pet @apolloreddit update.

It’s amazing to see so much love/support around these two indie devs ❤️ Can we always do indie dev Monday?
Introduction to the organizer
My name is Josh Holtz 😄 I’ll be the one organizing the content in this newsletter.
I’ve been developing and creating applications for myself since 2005. In 2011, I started a software consulting company called RokkinCat with a few of my friends. I’m also currently the lead maintainer of fastlane and have been a core contributor since 2015. My number one passion, and my day job, is maintain fastlane over on https://github.com/fastlane/fastlane. I currently don’t have much time outside of that to be an indie developer myself so I have a new hobby of living through other indie developers journeys and successes.
This newsletter is a slightly selfish project as I want to discover new indie devs for myself to follow 😈 But I’m hoping this newsletter can do something bigger than just that. I want to showcase and shine the brightest light I can on the indie developer community. Its something everybody needs to see and experience.
I’m going to do all that I can do discover and get connect with new indie developers but please feel free to reach out to me if you are an indie developer or if you have some favorite indie developers 🙏 I’m looking forward to discovering more of this amazing community myself!
You can find me on Twitter at @joshdholtz. My DMs are always open ❤️
